Stakeholder Involvement Teams

Stakeholder involvement teams are responsible for gathering input from neighbors in their section of the project corridor and representing those neighbors in meetings with IDOT, other stakeholder involvement teams and local politicians.

53 Neighbors United is an umbrella group formed to coordinate the activities of the Stakeholder Involvement (CSS) teams up and down Route 53 along the project corridor.

Representatives from each team meet with the public coordinator to share information and coordinate activities between the individual teams.

The public coordinator is responsible for educating, coaching and mentoring team members, residents, public officials and DOT staff on the context sensitive solutions process.  They also are responsible for assuring good communication between all involved parties.  They organize and facilitate meetings, act as a  clearinghouse for information, and above all strive to build consensus.
