Lombard/Glen Ellyn Team is Currently Inactive

The Lombard District II Stakeholder Involvement Team represents residents living along Route 53 between St. Charles Road and Surrey Drive.

Team Contacts are currently inactive however the project might not be.   If you live in the stretch of Route 53 from St. Charles Lane to Roosevelt Road this is also the section that passed public hearing.  It is open for progression to Phase II starting in 2008.  Consider becoming a Neighbor representative.  There is still much work to do.

Current IDOT Plan

IDOT held the public hearing on the stretch of road between North Avenue and Roosevelt Road in August 2004, ending the Project Engineering Phase I.  Construction is only funded between North Avenue and St. Charles Road.  Currently funding is only allocated to build a four-lane divided highway from North Avenue to St. Charles Avenue.   IDOT has given us a verbal reassurance that they will examine traffic volumes when they seek funding for construction south of St. Charles Road and will consider design changes if traffic volumes warrant.
