To 53 Neighbors United

Hi!

Just wanted to update you as to our progress with the Route 53 project.

Our meeting with Deb Fagan (and possibly Todd Hill) is 2/19 at 10:30 at the County. Then we zip back to the District office for an internal meeting with John Kos and Mike Moss to discuss IL 53. I should know more after the meetings on the 19th about a meeting with you, John K., Mike M., and us.

I'm sorry that this is taking us longer to get back to you with a date than expected but IDOT has many projects to work on and unfortunately, those that take priority are those that we have planned for construction in the next year. IL 53 is not one of those at this time. All other project in the four out-years of our program can be pushed up, moved back, and even dropped out at any time (case in point: IL 53 between IL 38 and IL 56).

So please we ask for your continued patience to give us time to react.

Thanks for being interested in the project concerns for your community and county.

  Sincerely,

Jarrod and John

This is good news about the bike trails. Deb Fagan is the Trails Director  for DuPage County and Todd Hill is the Bicycle & Pedestrian Program Manager for the Bureau of Design and Environment, i.e., the  person in IDOT in Springfield in  charge of all bikeways.

The date, that we are waiting for, is for a meeting to discuss residents concern's and suggestions for Route 53.

John Kos is the IDOT District I Engineer (we are in District I, he is in charge of our whole district).  Mike Moss is Policy Advisor to the Secretary of Transportation (he has responsibility for defining CSS policy).

Jarrod Cebulski is Project Coordination Manager for District I.  John Baczek is the Project Manager in chart of the Route 53 improvement project.
