What is Regional Planning Board?

The Regional Planning Board is a blending of CATS also known as the Chicago Area Transportation Study and NIPC also known as the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission.  The RPB is a new and improved MPO that will not only do transportation forecasting, but support it with land use forecasting and various other regional forecasts as well.  This should make for a more comprehensive and accurate regional plan.

Current News!

The Chicago Area Transportation Study (CATS), the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC) and the Regional Planning Board (RPB) are conducting interactive meetings where you will have the opportunity to comment on the Update of the 2030 Regional Transportation Plan. The meetings will be engaging and useful for you, as well as for us.

Seven participatory meetings will be held throughout northeastern Illinois. The meetings are designed to gather your ideas, wherever you live, using the innovative tool TransopolySM . You are welcome to attend.

All meetings begin at 6:30 with a sign-in and socializing period. The facilitated sessions last from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  For more information, please see www.sp2030.com

The dates and locations are as follows:

All meeting locations are close to transit and have nearby parking.

Please register for a meeting by either emailing ctaqc@cnt.org or by calling (773) 269-4097. Include your name and phone number or email address when responding.
