Survey for Route 53

Please take a minute and fill out this survey of amenities on Route 53 that you would like to see in the design plans for the public hearing. The resident Stakeholder Involvment Teams that are going to IDOT need to take your concerns to IDOT engineers. This survey is one of the instruments being used to do that.

Read each item carefully. Select 1 if you strongly disagree or 5 if you strongly agree. Three is neutral. Thanks for taking time to give input.  At the bottom please give us your name and contact information.  There also is space for you to add your comments.

Thank you

What I would like to see on Route 53
I prefer a three-lane cross section to a five-lane cross section.
Pertaining to a Five-Lane
If a five-lane cross section goes in, I want IDOT to buy me out. (please leave address number)
I don’t want sidewalks at all
In the event of a five-lane cross section, I want 11 foot lane widths to slow traffic and reduce the cross section of the road.
I would like curb and gutter.
I do not want shoulders on the road.
I want a posted speed limit of 35 mph.
I want grass and tree boulevard instead of drainage ditches.
I want a walkway under Route 53 at Wilson for crossing to the park district in Lombard.
I would like trucks to be directed off of Route 53.
I want an off-road bike path
I prefer sidewalks to a bike path on one side of the road.
I would rather the center lane to be a raised vegetated median even if that means it’s wider
I would like grass and trees and or landscaping on the median.
I want a signal at Meadow Lane
I want Madison full access and signalized
I want a signal at Surrey Drive.
I want a Moratorium in writing in the deeds on all-future expansion and acquisition of right-of-way on Route 53 in regard to ANY and ALL future projects for this corridor.
