               You can follow the average daily traffic counts on IDOT's site.  Just zoom in to IL Rte 53 and you'll see the aadt.

Minnesota Crash Rate Data

The crash rate for 3-lane roads is actually 4.0 crashes per million vehicle miles -- as safe as 4-lane divided road.  This was discovered when the data used to generate the graph was found to be in error and recalculated.
